Getting pregnant: The termination of pregnancy 4 years ago may have nothing to do with present difficulty. Step one is to see an obstetrician for exam, labs, other evaluation. Step two will depend on her or his recommendations but might include referral to fertility specialist. Step three (start this now) take 1 mg of Folic Acid (aka folate) or a prenatal vitamin just in case your wish comes true before doc visit.

Evaluation: I would highly recommend that you meet with and ob/gyn or a fertility specialist. You are still young and you conceived before and those are all positive factors but after 4 years of trying it is time see a specialist. There could be different reasons for you inability to conceive that have nothing to do with the miscarriage that you had such as abnormal sperm, but the sooner you see a specialist.

Pregnancy: Unfortunately, abortions can do that. First you want to make sure you ovulate, so do ovulation test. If you do ovulated, then you will need an exam and work up to make sure there is nothing in your uterus that would prevent a fertilized egg to implant such as scars from previous abortion, etc. Then your partner needs to have his work up done as well.
