Isn't the term "psychotic" irrelevant? a emo-artist type would seem out of touch of reality in a engineering seminar- it's all point of view

Reality check ?: Psychotic refers to being out of touch with reality. The term is used in conjunction with mental conditions where people might hallucinate, be paranoid or distort reality in other ways. An artist (visual artist or a writer) may use their imagination and distort reality in their creations. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are psychotic. The important factor is whether they can judge reality.
