Family practice: Not necessarily. It takes 4-6 weeks for a fracture to heal. If it really bothers you after a week you might consider an x-ray.

Yes: Pain isn't normal and even though it could be soft tissue, why take the chance of a fracture . Get an x-ray.

Stubbed foot: If you are having even mild pain as you state an x ray is indicated. I have seen many chip and overt fractures this way. Seek the help of a podiatrist - you will be glad you did ! best of luck.
