Reduce it!: True rise in intra cranial pressure is serious it is evidenced by headache, nausea and vomiting , swelling of the optic discs and sometimes altered mental status. There is a relatively benign condition called benign intracranial hypertension ( otherwise known as psuedotumor cerebri) with different causes that is relieved by taking cerebrospinal fluid through a lumbar puncture.

Depends: We usually use a combination therapy of medications (mannitol, hypertonic saline, diuretics) and at times removal of the skull(craniotomy). It really depends on the underlying disease.
