May be: Given that there is now competition for warfarin, consider changing to xarelto which is approved for DVT in us. Additionally, once you have recurrent dvt, you are committed to anticoagulation. Therefore, while may be good to know the reason for hypercoagulability, it is unlikely to change type and duration of treatment.

Off Coumadin (warfarin): In order to test to see if you have a protein c or a protein s deficiency (that can make you hypercoagulable) you must be off Coumadin (warfarin) for a while first.
