Many causes: Too broad a question. The differential diagnosis is very long need more clinical information. Arrythmias , vasovagal , heart block , low blood sugar , seizures etc.

Talk with your doc: Be a good detective. Think about your clues. What happened right before you passed out? Any palpitations? Change in medications/herbs/supplements? How well did you eat that day [any skipped meals]? How long were you out? These are some of the things to talk about with your doc.
