Heat / Massage: A typical stye is a plugged oil gland in the eyelid - much like a pimple. In the first few weeks, the best treatment is heat (softens the oil) and massage - expresses the oil out. After 4-6 weeks, they often get a capsule of scar tissue around them which then requires an office procedure to drain them.
