Get control!: Most people's asthma symptoms are controllable with one or two daily medications and occasional use of a "rescue" inhaler for breakthrough symptoms. Some people's asthma however is triggered only by exercise. These people often only need to use a rescue type inhaler prior to activity. So , it depends on your particular type of asthma. Talk to your doctor.

Develop a plan: Successful asthma control can allow most sports endeavors. It can be achieved when you find a doc you can work with, learn the treatments & monitoring devices & develop a plan. This plan includes a way to tell if your control is getting better or worse (peak flow meter, symptom chart). It includes a plan for daily meds and when to use episodic rescue meds.an understanding of when to call or go in.
