Is the spinal fusion a risky thing to do?

Let us think: Any operation in general is risky, this why we have to be sure you need it, and they are no other solution . The spinal fusion have common risks like any other operation, add to that special risk( bone may not fuse, infection.) and other. Thank you.

Risks not high: Spinal fusion surgery is safer than it has been in decades due the advances in imaging and neurophysiological testing during surgery. The allows for safer placement of instrumentation with less risk of nerve injury. Risks of bleeding or infection remain present but with a good surgeon and hospital, these should also be minimal. Risk of poor healing also remain depending on your age and health.
