See below: Usually 25 mg if all labs are normal. You did not mention whether you have a coexisting autoimmune disease such as ra. Having an coexisting autoimmune diseases often dictates what therapy would best work. Biologics, high dose prednisone, and azathioprine are used in general.

Multiple meds better: It is better to add another inflammatory medication than go to a "maximum" of any medication. There are numerous other anti inflammatory meds that work well with methotrexate. You are hopefully under the care of a rheumatologist.

25 mg weekly: The maximum dose of Methotrexate is 25 mg weekly. I have personally not found Methotrexate to be an effective therapy in a majority of cases of resistant scleritis but it is worth a try.
