Sedation: Seroquel (quetiapine) is known to cause sedation that sometimes can be pretty bothersome. It, however, doesn't work as valium in that it is not addictive, although, sedation may be just as bothersome. Xr formulations may be more sedative than short acting ones and you may discuss with your physician possible switch. Sedation side effect may get better with time.
