See OB now: Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy may be sign of placenta previa or warning of abruptio placentae (impending miscarriage). See your OB at once to determine the cause & be treated.

Bleeding: 40-50 % of women in the first trimester will have some vaginal bleeding. The heavier and redder the color the more worrisome. An increased risk of miscarriage. Bleeding later in pregnancy can be signs of placenta previa, placenta abruptio, pre term labor. Bleeding after the first trimester puts you at an increased risk of preterm labor and delivery. Always call your md with vaginal bleeding.
