Change your approach: There are a number of actions that you can take to increase your happiness. In addition to seeing a psychotherapist, you might also get a book on happiness--"the how of happiness" is a good one, but there are others. Setting goals, striving, appreciating what you have and the good things that are coming your way, being generous to others with your time, learning something new might also help.

Happy: I have found that the more valuable i feel as a person, the happier i am. If i look not toward myself for happiness, but to others and offering them whatever it is they need, be it money, my labor, or just an ear to listen to them. I have value if I am serving others and by helping people i also get out of my own head and my own unique problems, and see first hand that things can always be worse.
