A member asked:

I'm scared about therapist sessions. is this fear normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Anxiety about going to psychotherapy for the first time is completely normal. I have not met a client who did not have some anxiety coming in the first time. I do group psychotherapy and there is even more anxiety about going to group for the first time. But in individual and group therapy I have seen so many times that the initial anxiety turns into relief, safety and even joy. Be well, .
