Controversial: Years ago, papers on brain atrophy said to be due to marijuana were published, but unlikely that there was causation in retrospect. However, in younger children, weed may have permanent affects on learning, and perhaps both short and long term memory. No convincing evidence in adults so far, but emotional vulnerable people may be at risk for changes in mood and behavior.
