Unlikely: The more likely reason for a person to breathe through their mouth would be nasal congestion or stuffiness due to allergies, enlarged adenoids or other nasal problems. During an asthma attack, it is common for patients to "pant" or breathe through their mouth as they are having respiratory distress.
