A member asked:

How come i have overuse syndrome, but nobody else in the family has it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not congenital: Overuse syndrome is not a condition which is inherited or familial. It is due to overworking a particular area or using a part of the body which is not strong enough or well conditioned enough to tolerate the tasks at hand. This can be addressed by reducing the workload and progressively strengthening the affected are to ultimately tolerate the demands being placed.
