You may have one...: Ankle sprains can sometimes result in fractures in the foot, particularly along the 5th metatarsal (and just because you can walk on it, doesn't mean it didn't break). Have it checked out properly by a foot/ankle specialist. If not, you risk having an undetected injury and it could compromise not only your healing but can affect other components of your gait and overall activity level.

Yes: Many patients who believe they have a sprain actually have a fracture of an ankle or foot bone. If you are in pain and are concerned I recommend getting an exam for the proper diagnosis and treatment plan you may need! Best wishes!
