A member asked:

How come i have chronic pain, but nobody else in the family has it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not genetic: Chronic pain is not always a genetic or familial problem. Pain can come from an injury, inflammation, disease process, cancer, mental health issues, congenital malformations, etc. Treating chronic pain is best done with a holistic approach using pain medications as well as yoga/tai chi, acupuncture, rolfing, feldenkrais, therapy and faith in yourself.
