Why do i get utis so often? what can i do to prevent this?

Frequent UTI's: People with recurrent uti's need to be evaluated by a urologist to see if they have an obstruction of their urinary outflow tract. A renal ultrasound will be done. If that does not give the answer of why you have these frequent uti's, other tests will be ordered. A urologist can give you the a diagnosis and a treatment plan to resolve your problem. Good luck.

Depends on cause: Treatment and prevention depends on the cause- find this out, you'll then be able to treat it. Some causes include:1.Diabetes (control blood sugars) 2.Anatomical issues (urologic intervention) or 3. Physiologic problem (meds or urology intervention). Some situations demand a doctor's expertise, others require prevention on your part (complete voiding, reduce risk of an std, voiding after sex).
