It can be painful: Osteochondritis dissecans (ocd) occurs when there is a problem with the bone and cartilage becoming separated from the normal bone. It usually starts in children, but can persist into adulthood. If it is non displaced, there can be an achy feeling, but if it starts to detach or completely detaches, there can be symptoms of pain, clicking, locking, and swelling of the joint.
