Bullous myringitis: Myringitis bullosa is an ear infection where the causative germ actually induces a blister on the surface of the ear drum. Usually, but not always, this causes a severe earache. It is treatable with common antibiotics.

Absolutely!: Myringitis bullosa is a form of acute ear infection in which blisters form in the eardrum. This is often very, very painful, more painful, in fact than the usual acute ear infection. The treatment is the same...In older children we may watch and wait and in younger children we are more likely to give antibiotics. Either way, pain medicine is key to helping with symptoms.
