Not absolute : Too many variable involved to list here. If recent pe, the answer is no, and should wait 6 to 12 months while treated with anticoagulant. Afib should be rhythm or rate controlled. Have your surgeon refer you to your own doctor or another doc with pre-op doc expertise so they can stratify your risks (e.g. Pe, stroke). Pre-op medical optimization can lower these risks, but not eliminate them.
