Shingles: Mis-daignosis really should not matter in the end product of the condition. Patient who are diagnosed on day one can have post-herpetic pain. The treatment at this point really depends on where the problem lies. Can nerve blocks be done ? Is he using neural membrane modifying agents (neurontin (gabapentin) etc). There are things that can be done so do not give up.

Recommend : Recommend that he see a pain management specialist if he has post-herpetic neuralgia.
