A member asked:

I have gastroparesis, does that also delay medications from absorbing or digesting?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It may: While the vast majority of meds dissolve in your stomach and are able to be adsorbed there, some meds, especially delayed or extended release medications, may need the different ph of other parts of your intestine to dissolve/activate. Talk to your pharmacist if you have questions about specific medications and they either know or have the resources to look up that particular medicine.
