Insulin-like GF: Insulin-like growth factors, which are elevated in per-diabetics and diabetics cause the skin to thicken and discolor in a condition known as acanthosis nigricans.

Acanthosis nigricans: Related to obesity & Insulin resistance.Common among young people with dark skin, type 2 diabetes, and abnormal fats in the blood. High triglycerides, high LDL cholesterol are typical. Low calorie diet, vigorous exercise, and weight loss will slowly normalize the skin. More important the diabetes will improve or disappear and the risk of kidney failure + risk of arteriosclerosis will be much less.
