Plenty ?too many: Hundreds of thousand of men are getting radical prostatectomies, either robotically, laparoscopically or by open surgery. Many of themcould be managed conservatively by observation, radiation therapy or hormone therapy. Thousands are still getting prostatectomies for bph, mostly cystoscopically & some by open, although many first treated with medication such as proscar, flomax, (tamsulosin) cardura, Hytrin etc.
