1.5yrs recovery of pedicle subtraction osteotomy. now have hip labral tear from 12-3o clock + more. pt told me a hip replacement would be an easier recovery than a labral repair. agree or not and why?

Labral tear : Agree that recovery is easier with hip replacement....But that doesn't mean you are a good candidate for it. You are very young, & shouldn't consider joint replacement unless/until you have exhausted all conservative treatment. Also, do you have severe arthritis in the hip joint? A labral tear alone is not a good reason to have a replacement.

Talk to Surgeon: Your pt may be right (or may not be). Independent of that the question is what do you need done to fix the problem. Only your orthopedic surgeon can answer that.
