Get testicular US: While there may not be a hernia, other things can cause symptoms, including a hydrocoele of the testis - an accumulation of clear fluid around the testicle. A primary hydrocele causes a painless enlargement in the scrotum on the affected side - on occasion, the size can cause discomfort. A testicular ultrasound can make this diagnosis, and also rule other other testicular pathology.

Testis pain: Most cases of pain in the testicle will resolve on their own. A scrotal ultrasound may also be helpful. In general, i would advise that if your symptoms persist longer than three months, you should probably see an urologist.
