You can but unusual: Autoimmune disease can be fatal, but some are not even symtpomatic and most can be controlled. We need to categorize you, be certain we agreee with the diagnosis, and see what teh best therapy would be. We can not cure diseases in this category but we can help control this. Death can occur if severe involvement of vital organs occur - most are internal organs like heart, brain and lung.

Autoimmune disease and death: Death in autoimmune diseases depend on several factors including its severity , target organ, cell , tissue and vital structures involved, duration and stage of disease, underlying comorbid conditions, age of patient and overall health of patient. Many of autoimmune diseases do well with appropriate management . They are chronic diseases and need expert care in the longer run.
