Why do you care?: If you do care, it may be relevant to the answer. Caring (not pointless) but not being excited, might be low libido (physical). I don't mean to hold you to your words, but they are all I have to work with. The pain part might be addressed by an obgyn (or sex therapist). The boredom by a sex therapist. The pointless by a psychotherapist. If you are asexual i'd think you just might not care.

Sex: Sexual desire can be affected by certain medications, sleep deprivation, certain medical conditions, poor nutrition, depression, anxiety and stress. Consult with a mental health professional who can help you uncover the source of your low desire and can help you work through whatever is troubling you. Best wishes.
