Likely not-ck w/ MD: Cervical whiplash injuries can cause a collection of symptoms following an acceleration/deceleration injury typically from motor vehicle accidents. Can affect the discs/muscles/intervertebral joints/nerves/ligaments. Symptoms are variable; can include neck pain, stiffness, headaches, tingling, sleep disturbance & other. See md for eval/xrays, especially if had head injury as well. Don't ignore.

NO !: Assuming that "whiplash" was properly diagnosed, then it is not dangerous at all, but can hurt a lot. True whiplash usually comes from acceleration/deceleration injuries. The joints of the spine, especially the neck, don't like being whipped around like that, and they get very inflammed. The muscles, tendons, ligaments around those joints frequently become upset as well. Meds, injections help.
