A member asked:

Left ear slightly clogged and crackles when i open mouth. what could be the problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ligament: There is a ligament (pinto) that attaches from the disc of the jaw joint to the malleus of the inner ear. When the lower jaw is to far back the disc is stretched forward and sets up the crackling sounds you are in reference to. Gointi would see your dentist for an appliance that will reposition your jaw and stop the clicking. I would also see your medical doctor to rule out any ear infection.
