Treatment: Alcohol poisoning is usually treated by monitoring the patient & ensuring that he or she does not choke of vomitus or stop breathing. The person is given intravenous fluids (& possibly glucose or thiamin) & supplemental oxygen.

Supportive care: mostly. The major danger in alcohol poisoning, like that of any other sedative, is that breathing slows down and can result in lower oxygen levels and brain damage, and ultimately the heart stops too. In the US, people who are alcohol poisoned are intubated and put on a ventilator , until the alcohol levels come down. Dialysis is widely used in Russia to rapidly reduce blood alcohol.

Not if you can type: Alcohol poisoning causes people to be highly intoxicated to the point of falling asleep, then getting deeper to the point of stupor and coma, often with slowing down of breathing to the point of lowering blood oxygen to the body and brain, and causing brain damage and even death. Vomiting and aspirating stomach contents can lead to pneumonia and death as well. You wouldn't be sitting and typing.

Water: Drink large quantities of water. If recent ingestion, induce vomiting so that any alcohol still in stomach is removed & not absorbed. Activated charcoal which is good at absorbing most other toxins does not seem to help with alcohol. Milk thistle, nac may be helpful. Stay awake to make sure person does not become unconscious. If bad go to er.
