A member asked:

Can an eye transplant help rid someone of ocular albinism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The only effective transplantation current is corneal transplantation - the introduction of normally non-pigmented front window of the eye to replace an opacified cornea. The albino lacks pigment in the uveal and iris tissue which cannot be transplanted with current knowledge. Gene therapy may offer some help in the future.
