Aloe Vera: Simply tear open the fleshy leaf and a sappy liquid will appear. Rub this against burned skin.

Healing scars?: I have looked at the evidence for aloe vera, and have not found any studies on healing scars. Using the mucilage from the interior of the leaf can definitely help skin burns though, as dr. Fowler describes. Topical use may also benefit skin infections and other kinds of wounds. There's additional evidence that it can help skin inflammation like in psoriasis & seborrheic dermatitis.
