Not sure: Lots of things can cause delay in menses. Hormone changes, delayed or skipped ovulation, cysts. If menses don't start in a couple of weeks contact your doctor.

External influences: Despite what most think of as an automatic and simple system, there is a very complex interaction between several hormones, each of which can be impacted by different life stressors. Infection, trauma, external stress (emotional/social/etc.), diet change or inadequacy, among others, can all impact the reproductive cycle. If irregularity persists, you should see a gyn.

Stress ??: Stress of any sort can delay a period. If you don't ovulate regularly a period may be delayed. A pregnancy test can be false negative if taken less than 10 days after conception, tho ! ck with your md !
