Depression: Is nothing to be embarrassed about. It is a common & treatable condition. Please start with your family physician to rule out medical causes for your symptoms. He or she may refer you to see a psychiatrist or psychologist. Take care.

Depression: If your mood has lasted more than a few days you should consult with a mental health professional who specializes in treating depression. Your meds imply you may see a psychiatrist or your primary care doctor, ask for a referral. Depression can alter thoughts in anyone toward negativity. It is quite likely you can be helped. Best wishes.

See below: I'm sorry you're going through this. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. To add to what my colleagues said, establish a routine for yourself-- practice relaxation, guided imagery (you can look up the scripts on line); sleep hygiene. Focus on positive aspects of your day, however small they might seem. Good luck!
