Join a support group: Isolation is never a good situation and sometimes you must seek out a community of similarly affected patients to understand how to deal with this.You don't mention the issue but your doc may have a lead on a local group or you can look to the web for one.Good luck.

Name of disease?: Since you neglect to name the disease, there is no answer. After you name it, a DR can discuss it. If you name certain "diseases" the answer is that your family is correct. If you name others, your DR can discuss details so you will be able to discuss with others. More important so you can deal with it through better understanding.
