Try nose spray: You may want to try a nasal decongestant like afrin or neosynephrine for 3 days as directed. There is a tube between the inside of the ear and the back of the nose which gets swollen when you are sick with a cold, etc. The sprays can help sometimes decrease swelling and open up the ears and help you pop them gently. You can also take a pill decongestant which might help.

Talk to your doctor: Talk to the doctor that is treating you for your illness about this. This is quite common for sinus infections or allergies and may not be a problem, but your doctor will be able to help with this.
