+ re-enforcement: Positive re-enforcement should work. Play/fun/pool/beach = sunscreen/sunblock. Depending on their age, showing your kids pictures of people with sun-damaged skin may be needed.

You just do it!: Don't give them a choice! they either wear the sunscreen or they don't go out. Dont argue with them. Try and make it fun. Let them pick which body part to do first. Have a race to see who can get done the fastest. You can't convince them, you are the mom so you are the boss!

Be firm: Once they get one or two really bad sunburns they'll agree to wear it! the trouble is this: even one or two really severe sunburns can predispose people to malignant melanoma, the most aggressive and dangerous form of skin cancer. I'd be firm with them as a parent that they must wear it or not go outside. Or maybe you could bribe them?

It is as : Important as brushing teeth and get vaccinations. Try getting one of the fun blocks that go on with a color and rapidly disappears. Works for mine.
