Please see a gyn: U need a work up and an exam and the gyn can get your period back on track and make sure the thin lose tissue is not anything bad or that needs to be corrected.

Missed period: 40 days late on your period and not being pregnant is not normal. Not sure what your boyfriend felt, but one way or the other, it is definitely worth checking with your doc to find out what's going on and how to restart your periods.

The tissue: Part is not related to the missed period. Usually after 3 months of no period a workup is started. You may have irregular ovulation. You may benefit from the birth control pill. It helps things other than prevention of unplanned pregnancies.
