A member asked:

Can you get chickenpox after you've had them i'm so worried because i'm pregnant.

Extremely rare: There are isolated individuals with immune deficiencies that have had repeated episodes. There is some question if kids who have them below 6 months of age can get them again. In your case i would accept your concern and say you have a better chance to hit the lottery than to get it again.Your prior illness provides antibodies that will protect baby if you are exposed.

You are safe: Having had chickenpox makes you immune from getting it again. Pregnancy often makes women worry about all sorts of things, that is normal. You are not the first and will certainly not be the last, .
