PROSTATIC HYPERPLASI: If you are diagnosed with benighn prostatic hypertrophy and have confimed diagnosis with symptoms of urinary frequency during day and night and your psa is normal then you need to takle medicine to control your syptoms and/or shrink the gland. The medicines are Alpha blockers which only control the syptoms and you can use in combination with Avodart (dutasteride) to shrink the gland but it is not free of side ef.

Depends: If you symptoms are mild your urologist, who you must see for this condition to rule out prostatic cancer, will recommend an Alpha adrenergic agent such as terazosin. The only side effect is lowered blood pressure which you body will adapt to quickly and in fact may help your heart. Finasteride may also be recommended. Most respond but surgery is an option.
