Sounds like a : Thrombosed hemorrhoid (blood clot within a hemorrhoid). If the pain is too bad u need to see a surgeon to have it removed. If the pain is getting better then it will resolve on its own. Soaking the bottom in warm water provides relief. Avoid straining and take stool softeners if stool is on the hard side.

Get it checked: No, injury from over a year ago should have healed. Even if it were from that event it would still be abnormal for it to be painful. Go see your doctor.

Not likely: Due to child birth. May be an external thrombosed hmorrhoid. Best to see your ob-gyn , pcp or a colon and rectal surgeon to make the diagnosis and offer any treatment if needed.
