Small rupture: The description you were given probably is a small bulge or rupture, which may or may not be the source of your pain. Either your primary provider or a back specialist should see you, take your history, examine you, and see if your problems fit the ct abnormality. Shallow disc: This means that there is a small central bulging/herniation of the disc material at the l5/s1 spinal segment. Lots of people have things like this. It usually doesn't cause much compression of the nerve due to the location. But this signifies that you are starting to have some disc 'degeneration'/damage. Ct not as good as MRI for diag. Stay healthy, exercise, maintain healthy weight.
