Losing Libido: Yes, of course it can be a side effect of birth control hormones. But lessened libido is a very common problem with anxiety and stress; having too much to worry about leaves your brain exhausted and sexual desire goes away. Depression is also a common reason for lessened libido.

BCP vs libido: There is a definite link between oral contraceptives (birth control) & loss of sex drive. The theory is that extra estrogen can decrease testosterone levels. Of course, there are many reasons for loss of libido, including relationship w/your partner, and stress over money, job, partner, family etc. Depression can do this too as can many medications besides contraception. Try using condoms instead.
