Floaters: Floaters are generally observed and do not need any treatment. In rare cases, the floaters can cause significant visual issues and they can be removed by a retinal surgeon.

Fix for floaters: Vitrectomy works for floaters. Although it carries risks, it is associated with reasonably good outcomes to get rid of floaters. Cataract progression is likely to increase after removing the vitreous. For this reason, we discourage routine treatment of floaters via vitrectomy. An alternative is to use the yag laser which can sometimes be effective for mild floaters. The type of floater is key.
