A 40-year-old female asked:

My daughter has inherited waardenburg syndrome form me. she has weak shoulder muscle control and weak grip strength. could they be related?

Dr. Lisa Rankin
ADHD and Autism 27 years experience
Possibly: Some patients with that syndrome can have issues related to the shoulders and the spine but is pretty rare. A thorough physical exam and evaluation by physical and occupational therapist can help isolate the source of the problem and direct referrals from there. A specialist such as a neurologist may be involved in the process also.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
