How can i know what could be the cause of one eye swelling?

Various: First be sure it is not that the other eye is receding? The causes for one eye protruding include thyroid disease, tumors, vascular lesions and infections (i assume there was no trauma involved which would be an obvious cause). Unilateral swelling needs to be evaluated by your eye doctor especially if the vision is affected, if there is double vision, or pain in the eye or socket.
